Past work

This page is for the replica work, archaeological illustration, some of the experiments with tiling and whatnot.

My inner gaming geek coming out, I played with the idea of mapping tiles as well as learning Flash to create a mapping program.  Still learning the Flash programming [Whew, so much to learn!]. Also learning wrapping of textures, and the floor tiles seems like a good place to start.

Below is a pic of a replica created some time ago. This fellow shows the early stages in Chinchorro black style mummification. Soft tissues are removed and the skull bound together. Entirely made from a plastic model $9.95 hobby skull, some cotton twine and latex house paint.

Apparently it was done well enough to garner some attention from local and federal authorities when I went to get pictures developed. Note: always attach a letter when doing replica work of mummification and the photo developer sends your work out of state for developing. I no longer do replica work, but this was a good exercise in shading and textures painting!
